gap year or career break
A gap year or career break usually involves activities such as working, volunteering, learning and/or travelling. They offer you an opportunity to build skills and confidence, gain experience and try something new away from home.
This presentation gives you information & advice about:
- An overview of the opportunities
- Advantages & disadvantages
- Tips and advice
- Useful websites
If you are looking to volunteer, we can support you to fundraise. Contact adele.mundy@kendal.ac.uk, Kendal College’s Student Services & Marketing Manager (or pop to the reception) for more information.
Students wishing to progress on to degree-level study after a gap year will usually have secured a place on a course, which they will ‘defer’ until after their gap year.
